About Me

My name is Cassandra. I'm a corporate communications and information science design student at the University of Pittsburgh. Although my home is only about 25 miles east of Pittsburgh, I live here in Pittsburgh. Unlike many students here, I've had the opportunity to grow up around the city and have already developed a love for it. I enjoy many things like books, fashion, cooking, baking, hockey (go pens!), coffee, and anything sweet to name a few. On the top of my list, however, is photography and graphic design.

I was first introduced to photography as a member of my high school's yearbook. We were fortunate enough to have professional equipment and an instructor who was passionate about photography himself. As my time in the yearbook staff grew longer, my love for photography grew as well. While other students were in the student section at the football game or participating in a sport themselves, I was on the sidelines making those moments permanent memories.

I received my first digital SLR camera from my father a few years ago as a birthday present. Since then, it has been my only choice for shooting people, places and things. I shoot with a Canon EOS 30D with a 25mm lens.

Coming into college I was very eager to take more photos. What a better place to capture moments than a college campus in the middle of the city! While this is most certainly true, I soon learned that college comes hand in hand with a ton of work and not much time to explore the new area. Months would go by and I realized that I had hardly touched my camera. I needed to find a way to get myself back into one of my absolute favorite things.

My direction with this blog is to basically share my life. You can expect to see posts on places around the city, places outside of the city, recipes, tutorials and much more.

I hope you enjoy my blogging journey and what I have to show you. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to visit!
